Dinosaur Natl Monument and Park City, UT

We left CO for UT and passed through some nice country on the way.  It is very green right now which is not always the case when we pass through this part of the country.

The Colorado River is very high right now, too.

We also stopped at the Dinosaur National Monument on the way.  It straddles the state line between CO and UT.  Part of the monument area, mostly the CO side, is made up of canyons, rivers, and has lots of hiking and rafting opportunities.

The UT side holds the dinosaur fossil fields.  The area has been excavated extensively and continuously but they have reserved an excavated wall of miscellaneous dinosaur bones as an exhibit.  It is an area that holds a mish mash of various bones from animals that were caught in floods and trapped in a log jam in mud.  It is pretty interesting, actually, and you can actually touch some of the bones set in the rock.

Park City, UT is a ski area outside Salt Lake City.  We have been here a few times on our way west and back.  It is a pretty area and quite accessible to all the sights of Salt Lake City.  We also have family in the area whom we see whenever possible when we pass through.  In the area are a couple of reservoirs that provide sports and camping opportunities.
